My friend and I went to watch the Hunger Games at 8pm. Usually, they show commercials, advertisements and public announcements before the film. It so happened that they showed an animated public announcement against piracy and we chanced to see it. Two kids were playing in their backyard when suddenly the door bell rang. We were surprised to see that it was a very distinct funny-looking Chinese guy selling fake DVD’s and fake video game CD’s (which eventually broke their electronic appliances). Though I applaud the concept of the public announcement and the quality of the commercial, I can’t help but notice the bit of insensitivity regarding racism that the short animation seemed to carry. It’s almost already 2016 after all… NB, Dubai
