Ninety-nine per cent of the time, drivers completely ignore the fact that there is a cross walk in front of them, with a pedestrian trying to cross, and they drive on through. I have had to jump out of the way on more than one occasion, and I’ve been yelled at for being on the crossing. Where does this ignorance, arrogance, and lack of understanding of driving laws come from? The UAE Federal Traffic Laws state that a driver must stop and give way to pedestrians. Come on, people, this is the law! I urge drivers to be more courteous and pay more attention as they approach crossings; we all deserve to arrive alive at our destination!
