Maha Haddioui hopes to make lasting legacy at Dubai Ladies Masters

This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Maha Haddioui hopes to make lasting legacy at Dubai Ladies Masters Moroccan Maha Haddioui hopes an impressive showing at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters this week will inspire more young Arab women to take up golf. Haddioui became the first Arab golfer to play on the Ladies European Tour back in 2012 and is making her fourth appearance at Emirates Golf Club. “It’s a little girl’s dream, even if you are 26, you still have a dream to win in the region – Dubai or Morocco. It’s something really strong in my heart,” she said. “If that happens it will sort of inspire other women in the Arab world to take up golf.” The final tournament of the season, China’s Shanshan Feng will be looking to end on a high after building an unassailable lead in the Order of Merit. The defending champion has played just five events but has a lead of more than €90,000 over second-placed Nicole Broch Larsen who will be playing in her 17th tournament of the season. Running from December 9 to 12, 108 players will be competing for the top prize – with Danish duo Emily Kristine Pedersen and Nanna Koerstz Madsen also battling it out to be named Rookie of the Year. Indian Open winner Pedersen is just €32,434 ahead of Madsen, who  needs a third place finish to have any chance of overtaking her compatriot.
