Just before the movie started, a man walked in and upon placing his full backpack on the adjacent seat, proceeded to stroll casually out of the theatre. With recent events in mind, my wife and I plus quite a few other people were a little concerned to put it mildly. While happily this turned out to be a case of ignorant behaviour, it leads us to question the level of security at such venues. Cinema staff had absolutely no idea what to do or why we were so concerned when the situation was explained to them. Watching a Bond movie sitting next to someone with a full backpack on their lap that you know hasn’t been searched isn’t the most enjoyable experience.
