The Egyptian, 34, kissed the South Korean woman on the hand numerous times after picking her up from Al Maktoum Airport, before touching her thighs and chest against her will, prosecutors said. He is on trial at Dubai Court of First Instance accused of molestation – and overcharging the 25-year-old for her fare. He denies the charges. Prosecutors said the incident took place on August 29, 2015. The RTA Lexus driver picked her up at 4.30am and drove her towards her hotel in Oud Metha. She said she sat in the front seat to see the city lights when the Egyptian started a conversation. The nurse said: “He told me that I’m a beautiful woman and asked to touch my hand. I refused but he held my left hand and kissed it and I pushed him away. I was scared and asked him not to repeat it.” The pair reached the hotel and he stopped the car and kept her there for ten minutes, trying to hold her hands again before touching her thigh and chest. She said: “I couldn’t yell for help as the place was empty.” The woman said she asked for his phone number in order to appease him and to ensure he could be tracked down. She got out of the vehicle to find he had charged her Dhs62 extra. The nurse told the receptionist about what had happened and they phoned the police. A Dubai Police officer said the woman handed over the phone number. He said: “We called him and he came to police station. He confessed that he kissed her hands but that he apologised to her later.” The accused denied the molestation charge. He was also charged with embezzlement for adding Dhs62 to her bill.
