Guide to Red Bull Flugtag Dubai event

This weekend, Dubai will witness home-made flying machines take off from a platform constructed at Dubai Creek. The Red Bull Flugtag event challenges teams to design, build and pilot their aircraft off a 30ft-high flight deck and into the water. Here’s a guide to the event: What is Flugtag? Flugtag means “flying day” in German. The first Red Bull Flugtag took place in Vienna, Austria, in 1992 and more than 100 Red Bull Flugtags have since been held at venues around the globe, attracting up to 300,000 spectators for a single event. The teams participating in the competition are judged on three criteria: flight distance, creativity of the craft and showmanship. Details of the event The event is taking place in Dubai on November 27 at the Creek Park. Entrance through Gate 1 and 2. VIP entrance is next to the Virgin area through Gate 1. Doors open at noon. First jump at 1pm How to get there and where to park If you are taking a taxi, get off at the Creek Park. For those bringing their car, parking is available at S3 and S4 areas. Parking next to gate 1 is the biggest one. Dress code Sporty, casual and comfortable clothes and footwear.
