I write to express my frustration at drivers who treat public roads as private parking spaces. I live in Al Barsha, and the roads leading out of my apartment are roads with single lanes on either sides. There are two specific places on this road where drivers double park, put their hazard lights on and leave their vehicles or sit in their cars apparently busy and absorbed on their smartphones. The result is that every other car then has to move to the opposite side of the road. This happens at two specific points on the road – the first being the space in front of Troy car rentals and the second being the space in front of Saravana Bhavan restaurant. This occurs through the day and late into night and driving past is a highly frustrating experience. The only relief is that when there are police cars around, these double-parked cars miraculously disappear. Frustrated Dubai
