Whilst visiting a few metro stations recently I was aware of the lengthy queues of people wishing to purchase travel tickets. Why do they have just one ‘manned’ area, usually beside the barriers, yet they also have advertised other ticketing areas which are always unmanned? What is the point of actually having these purpose built unmanned places there at all? If they are never going to be manned then why not replace them with more modern ticketing machines that accept all denominations of currency? The ticket machines at present can be temperamental and sometimes even return your money therefore making you once again go and add to the already lengthy queues at the one manned desk.
