Letter: Treat job seekers with a bit of respect

This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Letter: Treat job seekers with a bit of respect I am on a visit visa hunting for a job. Recently I came across a company who called me for an interview for an executive secretary’s job and the way they treated the job seekers was pathetic. Three days back I got a from a reputed company and they asked me to attend the interview in SAIF Zone Sharjah. He did not give me detailed location, I tried to search online, but the information was not sufficient, so I called up the company asking to send the location map. The receptionist was again not ready to send it and gave some rough idea about the location. Thanks to a navigator and our own research we reached the location with great difficulty. The worst part started the way we were greeted by the receptionist. The ill-mannered lady didn’t even say hello or have the courtesy to ask which post we had come to interview for. Finally after a long wait, the boss came to the interview and hardly asked a few questions, before offering a really low salary. This is so humiliating, wish this guy could have at least quoted his cheap salary before he called us to this difficult location and insulted us. I kindly request employers, if you have a very low budget and difficult location kindly ask the job seekers expected salary instead of wasting time and money of job seekers.   Read the original story at: Letter: Treat job seekers with a bit of respect
