However, it was blighted by the discrimination against some Pakistan labourers who attempted to gain access to The Beach area down at JBR to enjoy there extended weekend and participate in all the fun and enjoyment. These guys were well presented in there ‘Sunday best’, pressed shirts, jeans and polished shoes waking proudly just by the cinema at the beach, only to be halted by some over-excited “I’m a security guard” chest-pounding attitude and a “where you from?” One replied “Pakistan”. The security guard said: “OK, you go that way”, pointing in the direction further along JBR away from the expat crowds. The guys didn’t question him, just bowed there heads and moved along as if this was a daily routine for them. I was infuriated and so disappointed to what I had just heard and saw this African security guard demanding that these Pakistan labourers take themselves away from the focus area because of there nationality (I assume).
