This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Sword fight broke out after Dubai supermarket row, court told A Dubai court has heard that two groups of men ended up fighting with swords and knives after a disagreement in a supermarket. Two Emiratis aged 24 and 18 and a 33-year-old from Comoros Islands have gone on trial at Dubai Misdemeanours Court charged with assault. Prosecutors said that on October 27, 2014, three Saudis were in a supermarket in Al Rigga when one of them accidentally bumped into one of the accused. An Emirati policeman said that when he arrived at the scene, the alleged attackers were inside a car wearing blood-stained kanduras. Police searched the vehicle and found painkillers. “They looked drunk or not aware of what was happening around them,” the policeman told the court. One of the men was found to be under the influence of drugs. The Saudi men were treated in hospital. The two Emirati accused confessed to assault and asked for time to reach a settlement with the victims, while the other defendant denied the charge. The case was adjourned until later this month. ali.shouk@7days.ae Read the original story at: Sword fight broke out after Dubai supermarket row, court told
