Dubai Courts to allow video for personal status testimonies

This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Dubai Courts to allow video for personal status testimonies Dubai Courts has launched a new service called ‘Qarib’ or ‘Near’ that allows personal status testimonies and notary authentications via video. The Personal Status Court in Dubai has jurisdiction in areas such as marriage, divorce and financial matters for Muslims and non-Muslims. It also supervises the performance of marriage officials and authenticates the documents issued by them. The Qarib service for testimonies is provided at Al Barsha Mall and Hatta branches, while the service for notary authentications is provided at the Hatta branch only during official daily working hours, reported national news agency WAM. Through the service, the testimony of witnesses in personal status transactions will be documented via the video system after verification of his or her identity. The witnesses will not be required to attend the court headquarters or its branches. Qarib also enables the notary in the headquarters to communicate with the client in the Hatta branch and verify the legality of the transaction and identity of the applicant. news@7days.ae Read the original story at: Dubai Courts to allow video for personal status testimonies
