In response to the letter ‘Give us more open space to play’ (Nov 25), I’m also a regular visitor to Karama Park. Since we are not allowed to play football on the streets or the footpaths, the park was our next option. But recently they have put up boards saying that we are not allowed to play any kind of sports, especially football. So where do we go to play? Is it that we always have to pay to play? Dedicated football pitches in Dubai are mostly paid and to go and pay everyday is not an option for us. Now, a country that promotes football so heavily, has its own league and has a lot academies for training, can’t open a space for children to go play whatever sport they want? Daniel, Karama
