Our pick of the year’s top music tracks

This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Our pick of the year’s top music tracks It has been an interesting year for pop music. Head of Features Chris Fraser picks his favourite seven tracks of 2015: Beck: Dreams The ultra-cool Californian landed a Grammy at the start of the year for last year’s Morning Phase album, and he followed that up with this upbeat teaser from his new album due out next year.   Jack U Featuring Justin Bieber: Where Are U Now Haters gonna hate, but there’s fewer and fewer now as the world acceptsthat yes, the boy’s got talent. The 21-year-old teamed up with hip producers Skrillex and Diplo, and the results are refreshing to say the least. If this is where the mainstream is headed, we should all be happy campers.   Selena Gomez featuring A$AP Rocky: Good For You The former Disney actress and singer has certainly come a long way. The 22-year-old channels her inner Lana Del Rey on this sultry RnB/pop crossover, and it works.   The Weeknd: Can’t Feel My Face What a belter. Even repeated plays can’t weaken this track from the Canadian singer and producer also known as Abel Tesfaye. A commercial smash, it’s been nominated as Record of the Year for the Grammy awards.   Rihanna featuring Kanye west and Paul McCartney: FourFiveSeconds A stripped back acoustic number from Macca, with some heartfelt singing from Rihanna and sidekick Yeezy. What more could you possibly want from a collaboration? A surprise release back in February, complete with classy black and white video, this doesn’t let any of the musical superstars down.   Years & Years: King The British trio, fronted by flamboyant actor/singer Olly Alexander, ruled the airways earlier this year with this 80s influenced, upbeat track.   Drake: Know Yourself The Canadian star surprised the world with the rush release of album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late on iTunes back in February, and this track is just one of many stand outs. Great music plus baffling lyrics (‘Running Through The 6 With My Woes’, anyone?).       Read the original story at: Our pick of the year’s top music tracks
