This is a short poem that I have put together which sums up the weather that our community (Jebel Ali Village) received over the last couple of days. ‘Help, a crisis in our village’ Dubai’s received its annual spillage Rain and Lighting and some thunder Our drive is lots of inches under On the phone to old Nakheel Who give the Yes Sir, No Sir, spiel? We’ll send across a suck up truck They’ll be there soon sir, good luck Out we are with spades and brooms As another raincloud looms Water Water everywhere and none of it to drink We need help now or we will sink Soon the water was diverted And the crisis was averted 3 hours later it’s all done Lots of graft from everyone All the rain and dirt and sand It’s all been moved at last ‘That’s grand!’ Then a guy comes to our gate It’s old Nakheel, 3 hours late Tim Dubai
