Noise pollution needs to be taken seriously in Dubai

This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Noise pollution needs to be taken seriously in Dubai I have been living in this great city for 10 years. Over time I have learned to be more open minded to other cultural habits and make peace with much of the daily frustrations regularly discussed in this newspaper. The authorities are constantly trying to improve the residents’ quality of life here and overall my family is quite happy here thanks to them. I would however like to point out to a problem which is worsening and negatively affecting our life: noise pollution. Construction noise, noisy motorbikes racing in the middle of the night, very loud mosques speakers, you name it. In this city there are places (including posher areas such as Jumeirah) where it’s impossible for anyone to get a full night’s sleep or enjoy a relaxing time outdoors. This is affecting people’s health, kids’ concentration at school… etc. When is this issue going to be taken more seriously?
