This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Security guard frustrated by working conditions I work for a security company in Dubai, we don’t get our salary when we are supposed to get it, presently the company owes us 2 months salary. How can we survive and feed our family as they all rely on the income we earn, some of my colleagues are through with their 2 years contract the company isn’t giving them their passport and entitlement forcing them to renew the contract. Some who will not renew the company doesn’t give them their ticket until few days before their residence visa finish. Yes I know there is an organization in charge of this which is Labour but how can we go there when we have no off, no labour card, no medical card, whenever we are sick we have to pay for our drugs we work a 12hrs shift and now for the past 3 months no off. When u ask for off they tell you we have no reliever. I know the UAE government is trying but believe me lots of workers like me are suffering. All the law and reforms they make only work for expat who gets high salary here. The government body regulating the security companies really need to look into this, we came here to make ends meet and put food on our family table but what have we got, companies robbing Peter to pay Paul.
