This content was originally posted in 7DAYS UAE website at: Dubai Food Festival to feature Restaurant Week Dozens of Dubai’s best fine-dining restaurants will offer visitors something to savour when the annual food fest returns early next year. The first Dubai Restaurant Week is being held in conjunction with the 17-day Dubai Food Festival, which serves up a showcase of the emirate’s gastro offerings to thousands of visitors from across the region. Hosted under the new ‘A Taste Celebration’ theme, organisers say the 2016 festival’s events and activities will promote the diversity, creativity and multicultural nature of Dubai’s culinary scene. And one of the main attractions is likely to be Restaurant Week, which runs for the first 10 days of the festival and sees 30 of Dubai’s top eateries offering three-course meals for Dhs189 per person. “Restaurant Week is a global phenomenon that is celebrated in the best cities across the world,” said Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), which organises the event. “As the region’s leading food festival, we cannot wait to introduce the concept to Dubai in 2016.” Among other attractions are the revamped Beach Canteen, which will be the festival’s free hub, featuring 15 home-grown restaurant concepts and celebrity chef appearances, as well as local bands, DJs, children’s activities and the official festival information kiosk. Adding extra spice to the line-up is the new Hidden Gems celebration, in which residents and visitors will be invited to help unveil the unsung heroes of Dubai’s restaurant scene. “The Dubai Food Festival is a celebration of the essence of food and its ability to connect people, bringing families, friends and communities together,” said Suhail. The Dubai Food Festival runs from February 25 to March 12.
