Police Chief Major General Khamis Mattar Al Muzaina, said his men bravely went from door to door as the building burned around them. They found the woman sleeping inside her hotel room on the 39th floor. “After 45 minutes of the fire breaking out, we found her sleeping in her room, despite the flames and the terrible conditions, ” he said. “We broke the door …we were able to save her life.” Al Muzaina was speaking to HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in a video circulated on social media. Meanwhile, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri of the Criminal Investigation Department, said the force has helped around 350 guests to retrieve their belongings so far. Among them was a Saudi businesswoman who returned to her room to find more than Dhs2million worth of jewellery has survived the fire. “She came to us and we escorted her to her room on the 44th floor. She managed to find her jewellery.
